Last.fm Scrobbling Support

I’ve just added support for submitting (scrobbling) all the songs you listen to on Cowbell.fm to last.fm.

Login to your account, go to “Your Stuff”, and click “Settings.”  Enter your last.fm username and password and go listen to some music, it’ll now all be submitted to last.fm!

A small feature, but a nifty one…

Follow your favorite Music Blogs and Artists

I’ve slowly been building a ‘following’ feature into cowbell, which is more or less complete and working well at this point.

You can now follow your favorite blogs and bands, and whenever a new song is posted on the blog or for that band, you’ll see it in “Your Stuff.”  Think of it as a peronalized playlist of great new music you’ve never heard.  I’m personally following about 8 of my favorite music blogs, and have a constant influx of great new music every day!

Whenever you see a song on cowbell, there will be a “Follow this Artist” link.  Similarly, you click on any Blog that you like, and then click “Follow this Blog”.

Coming Soon:  Automatically follow all of your favorite artists from you last.fm profile.

Give it a try, and let me know what you think.

Put your favorite songs on your blog

Cowbell just launched a new widget, “My Collected Songs.”

Whenever you hear a track you like, just click “collect this song” and if you have the widget on your blog, all your collected tracks will show up like the widget on the right.

You can also get widgets for the popular songs from the cowbell homepage, or songs from blogs that the site tracks.

Other widget ideas?  Let me know! (support at cowbell fm)

The best music search on the internets

If you’ve searched for anything on Cowbell in the past few days, you’ve probably noticed a few changes.  In addition to 55,000+ songs and 20,000+ artists, you can now search every single music blog post that we index, which is currently around 120,000 and growing fast!

So, the next time you search for Daft Punk you’ll be pleased to see that they’re working on a new album.

Or that Sigur Ros presale you heard about?  Ya, we’ve got the deets, and probably before google even knows about it!.

So give the new search a whirl!  I think you’ll like it.

Write your heart out

You can now comment on tracks on Cowbell.  Like a track, hate a track, have a 300 word review with an 8.7 rating for a track?  Then let the masses know!

Underneath every track on cowbell you’ll now see a “comment on this track” link, as well as any comments other people have made.  Give it a whirl!
